How is the course assessed?
The course is split into two main parts -
1.Theory
The theory is completed online and is broken down into modules to ensure it is both accessible and convenient: providing you with the flexibility to learn at your own pace. You can access the course materials anytime, anywhere, using your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
There are assessments throughout every module including written exams and case studies.
2. Training day(s)
You will be required to attend training days at module 4 of the course. This is essential to apply your theoretical knowledge to hands on service provision.
You will be ‘hands on’ with your tutor there for guidance and support, working on real clients and along side real horse owners. We ensure you are fully covered via our professional insurance throughout.
3. Practical
Upon successful completion of the theory section and training days of our Equine Intimate Health Course, you will then progress to the practical assessment.
These are held in Scotland or at a chosen location close to the learner at an additional cost.

The practical training days are an integral part of our Equine Intimate Health Diploma, offering you the chance to apply your knowledge, receive personalised guidance, and gain a recognised certification.
Application of knowledge: The practical training allows you to put into practice the theoretical concepts and techniques you have learned and helps you develop the necessary skills to confidently and effectively perform intimate hygiene care on client’s horses.
Feedback and guidance: During the practical training days, our experienced instructors will provide you with personalised feedback and guidance. They will assess your techniques, offer suggestions for improvement, and answer any questions you may have. This individualised attention ensures that you are on the right track and helps you refine your skills.
Enhanced learning outcomes: Research has shown that incorporating practical application into the learning process leads to improved retention and mastery of skills. By engaging in the practical assessments, you are actively reinforcing your knowledge and developing muscle memory, which contributes to a deeper understanding of equine intimate hygiene care.
How long will the course take?
Study duration: The course typically takes around 10-14 months to complete. Some modules may be quicker to complete and some modules may require further time for exploration for complete understanding.
You have access to complete the course for 24 months due to the depth of knowledge and practical skills covered. However, please note that the actual duration may vary based on your individual learning style, availability, and the time you can dedicate to studying as well as successful submission of assignments and marking time.
Self-paced learning: The course is structured to allow you to study at your own convenience. There are no rigid deadlines or fixed timelines for completing each module or assessment. You have the flexibility to allocate your study time according to your personal schedule, ensuring that you can balance other commitments while progressing through the course.
